Rossini is best known for his overtures, and Reiner with the Chicago SO have a great recording of his most famous works. Marriner and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields recorded Rossini's complete overtures, and comes in a 3 CD set that is a great bargain, to be re-released in August 2003.
